Choose Built-in Output from the Output Device pop-up menu. you will likely get a System Overload or Disk is too slow error message. ![]() Open GarageBand, then choose GarageBand > Preferences > Audio/MIDI. If the load gets too high, GarageBand cannot read and/or write data quickly. I just didn't expect to have to do stuff like this, because I've produced music for years, and never had such a hassle. Unplug your external audio interface from your Mac. I'm going to read the articles now, and see if they help. If there is anything in there other than the AppleIntermediateCodec or the AppleMPEG2Codec, drag out to the desktop, restart computer, try relaunching Garageband. If it hangs on initialization there you should check in Macintosh HD/Library/QuickTime. I want to buy Symphobia or Vienna Symphonic, but I'm figuring there's no point in wasting my money if things are already coming to a stand-still. Create another user account on the computer, try to launch Garageband. Yeah I have plug-ins such as Sugarbytes Wow, Fabfilter, NI Massive, Alicia's Keys, Albino 3 etc, because there's no way in the world I just want to use Logic's own instruments/fx. ![]() I didn't have any problems with any type of plug-ins with my PC. I had a PC Laptop with half the spec my mac is, and even when my hard disk space was nearly full, it still took quite a bit of audio for it to glitch, but it never just stopped like my mac does. (could the problems be to do with not having that update?). I did download it from the Mac store, so now I'm stuck and don't know what to do. I've tried downloading it, and installing it, but it a message comes up and says I have to download it from the Mac store. I have 9.1.6, but I've seen that 9.1.8 is available. I've noticed that there is an update for Logic. My machine's spec is a 2.5 GHz Processor, and 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3.
